Couples very often ask me about video and there are really only a couple of companies that I personally recommend. The other day I worked with a videographer who could easily win an award for being MR. CHEESY SHOOT OF THE YEAR!

I was feeling sorry for my couple who were forced to jump in the air spread their hands etc etc. Just imagine how that video will turn out :O Good videography should be a high quality documentation of your wedding day. Unfortunately, there seem to be more & more cheesy videographers around so if you want to be safe please watch a sample DVD before you decide to book!

Nhi & Joseph to be Married on October 18th!

Several months ago Nhi & Joseph came into my studio to book me for their wedding. Unfortunately, I was already booked for October 18th. I helped them find a replacement but Nhi would simply not accept not having me as her photographer so what did she do? She booked me on a week day. We started off at my studio where they dressed and then we headed to some nice locations for photos. I promised to complete their images and album in time for the real wedding. Nhi will display the wedding album or (Pre wedding album) at the wedding reception for guests and relatives to enjoy. So there you go a happy end :)

Nicole & Rossi were Married on May 31st at the Redfern Greek Orthodox Church. We took photos in the city and headed to the Waters Edge Function Centre to celebrate the wedding reception. I shot Nicole's sisters wedding around 2 years ago so it was nice to see the whole family again!

Julia & Peter were Married at the St Peter Catholic Church in Hunters Hill on July 17th. Because it was World Youth Day the city was off limits for photos not that it really mattered I actually prefer to shoot in non popular areas anyway. The couple celebrated their wedding reception at Curzon Hall. More images coming soon.

Australia's Top-Selling Pro Photography Magazine (Capture) has featured one of Gordon's award winning images on it's cover. This issue is a "Special Wedding Edition" and features the biggest names in wedding photography from around the country. Being featured on the cover of such a special edition is awesome recognition.

8 Award Winning images so far in 2008

I have won 3 Silver Awards at the Australian Institute of Professional Photography Awards held in Brisbane and another 3 Silver Awards at the State competition in Canberra this year. Most photographers would be jumping off their chairs with joy however, I am actually disappointed with this result.

I have also just been notified that I won another 2x "Accolades of Excellence" in the USA so that it's nice to add 2 more International awards to my wall.

Monica & Elias were married at the St. Vincent's Church in Ashfield on May 3rd. Once again the couple had their photos taken in the city before heading off to the popular Le Montage to function centre to celebrate their wedding with local and overseas family and guests.

Irish Gentleman meets Jamaican beauty. Jade and James were married on April 12th. Family from Ireland & the UK joined them for a fantastic wedding celebration at Double bay. Photos were shot at Watsons bay.

Liz & Marcus were married on January 5th. This was the first wedding of the year for me. Luckily it took place in a very relaxed Loxley on Bellbird Hill, Kurrajong. If you are seeking a casual place that still has class for your wedding reception then this is the place. The atmosphere is fantastic and the people that work at Loxley are the best you will ever come across! This place is a ten out of ten!

Pictured above Talia & Craig step out of the Grand Synagogue in Sydney as husband & wife where they were married on December 18th. I started taking photos of Craig and his 7 Groomsmen at Rose Bay before I headed off to Talia's home in St. Ives. When Talia walked down the stairs in her wedding dress it was a beautiful site to see her emotional father with tears in his eyes. The couple had photos taken in the city before enjoying their wedding reception at the Sheraton on the Park. More images will be online shortly.

Suzzane & Eric were Married on September 23rd at Curzon Hall. It was a traditional wedding with tea ceremonies and lots of fun when the Groom came to get his Bride. I will never forget this wedding because I was stuck in an elevator on the 16th floor with the Groom and his boys. Luckily after a few minutes the elevator opened it's doors. It was a scary few minutes.

A Wollongong Wedding. Marina & Alex were married on September 1st in my own birth town Wollongong. It had been many years since I went back there so it was kind of strange to see how it has changed. It was a traditional Macedonian wedding the couple had photos taken around the light house and then the reception took place in the city centre.

Barbara & Ralf were married at Curzon Hall on June 30th. This Hong Kong couple came to Sydney to study at the Macquarie University. Before their departure back home they decided to get married in our wonderful city. They have known each other since they were very young and had planned everything for their big day very carefully. Before booking me as their photographer Ralf emailed me saying he is not a rich man just a student but he would at least book Sydney's best wedding photographer so that the memories of their special day stay with them for life. Words like this make me blush of course. It was truly a pleasure shooting their wedding. I have only just started processing the images. Sally had no idea where they would be off to but the Greek Islands were talked about by close relatives. I still don't know for sure where the couple went but Greece certainly would be nice! Georgie & Ric were married on the beach at Port Douglas on June 9th just outside the new Sea Temple Resort. Around 60 guests from England, Canada and the US travelled to be part of their big day. The couple flew me in from Sydney. Wow... the apartment they gave me was a beaut! I even had my own private spa overlooking the biggest pool you have ever seen which was just what I needed upon my arrival and especially after the wedding on Saturday evening. Pictured above are just a few samples. The couple will return to Sydney this week then fly to Africa to enjoy the second part of their honeymoon. Above a shot from the plane just after take off heading back to Sydney with a view of the barrier Reef below.

Rebecca & Lee were married at Loxley on Bellbird Hill in Kurrajong on May 13th. Rebecca was getting ready at the Langi Dorn B&B while Lee was with the boys and dogs at home. Yes we got some shots with the dogs too. Their day was relaxed among family and friends having photos taken on the beautiful grounds at Loxley. The reception room truly offers spectacular views and lots of fresh air. It's nice to get away from the city for a change. The couple are off for their honeymoon to Thailand. We wish them a wonderful time!

Top Result at Australian Institute of Professional Photography Nationals
I have scored another 3 Silver Awards at the Australian Nationals held in Melbourne last week.
Of the 4 prints entered 3 were winners! I also received my ribbons today from Las Vegas where I took 3rd in the Annual International 16x20 Print Competition last Month just ending up behind World Famous Photographer Yervant.

JUST MARRIED! - Sachie & Sujio
Sachie & Sujio were married on February 25th. Sachie had her paerents and close family come all the way from Japan to be with her on her wedding day. The ceremony was very emotional and beautiful and perhaps was a little too much for Sachie. Once the ceremony was over we went to the city for photos but Sachie was not feeling too well. After a break we managed to quickly get some photos! The reception took place at Doultone House Pyrmont.

I must say it's such a beautiful hotel which offered their guests 1st class service and a great atmosphere.

Walking down the aisle

On November 4th Carla & James were married in Marrickville. Carla was a very excited bride even many months before her wedding day. I know she dreamed of having an image of herself walking down the aisle with dad who is quite emotional in the picture. So here it is Carla!
